A Message from The Founder
Our hope for everyone who comes through our doors is simple: to feel genuinely seen, gain clarity about what’s been holding you back, and leave sessions with tools that help you move forward.
True Balance Psychotherapy was founded on a simple but profound belief: effective therapy must be both clinically grounded and deeply attuned to the whole person.
We built True Balance to provide a thoughtful and private space for healing an environment where cultural sensitivity and clinical excellence meet to provide an elevated level of care for all our clients. At True Balance, we believe care should be as unique as the person receiving it. Our team works with a heartfelt commitment to each individual, providing a compassionate space to foster clarity, resilience, and a deeper sense of psychological peace.
Our focus is clear, structured, and individualized, centered on helping you move forward with greater stability and insight.

What to expect in therapy

What happens in the first session?
The first session focuses on getting to know you, your concerns, goals, and background. Your therapist will ask questions, explain their approach, and work with you to outline a plan moving forward.

How long are therapy sessions?
Most sessions are 50 minutes long, though some therapists may offer longer or shorter formats depending on your needs.

How many sessions will I need?
This varies from person to person. Some clients benefit from short-term therapy (a few sessions), while others engage in longer-term work. You and your therapist will regularly review your progress and adjust as needed.

What kinds of issues can therapy help with?
Therapy can support a wide range of concerns, including anxiety, depression, stress, relationship challenges, life transitions, trauma, and personal growth.

Do I have to talk about my past?
Not necessarily. Some approaches focus more on the present and future, while others explore past experiences. Your therapy will be tailored to your comfort level and goals.

Is everything I say confidential?
Yes, therapy is confidential. However, there are a few legal and ethical limits (such as risk of harm to yourself or others), which your therapist will explain during your first session while reviewing the confidentiality policy.

What if I don’t know what to talk about?
That’s completely okay. Your therapist will help guide the conversation and create a safe space for you to explore your thoughts and feelings.

How do I know if therapy is working?
Progress can look different for everyone, improved mood, better coping skills, stronger relationships, or increased self-awareness. You and your therapist will check in regularly about how things are going.

What if I don’t feel a connection with my therapist?
A strong therapeutic relationship is important. If something doesn’t feel like a good fit, it’s okay to discuss it openly or explore other therapist options.
